Cidre D'Anjou
Warm your insides with this winning cocktail of the 2013 Fall Craft Cocktail Competition. The Cidre D'Anjou by Chris McClain of The Portsmouth Gas Light combines Cointreau and mulled cider making a smooth and comforting spirit. Perfect for your holiday celebrations!

Ingredients:
1.5oz Cointreau
1  oz Drambuie
3  oz warmed Mulled Cider
5 Cardamom pods
5 Allspice berries
5 Whole cloves
2 Whole star anise
3 Cinnamon sticks
1.5 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 Vanilla bean
Orange Zest 
 
For Mulled Cider: 
1 gallon of fresh apple cider
In Cheesecloth:
5 Cardamom pods
5 Allspice berries
5 Whole cloves
2 Whole star anise
2 Cinnamon sticks
1.5 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 Vanilla bean
Simmer ingredients together in a sauce pan for at least 30 minutes.  
 
1. Remove cider from heat and pour three ounces into a warmed glass mug.  
2. Add 1.5 ounces of Cointreau and 1 ounce of Drambuie and stir.  
3. Garnish with a generous twist of orange zest and a cinnamon stick.
4. Serve immediately
