Paying tribute to her family heritage and the city she loves, Suzanne Foley has found her niche by baking one irresistible treat. Port City Pretzels, in Tasty Ranch Dill, bring bold flavors to an age-old snack. Each package is branded to honor the great New England seaport of Portsmouth, the place Foley calls home.

The idea for the pretzels was born about 27 years ago, after Foley first tried a recipe from her mother-in-law, Eileen Foley, the longest-serving Portsmouth mayor. Upon tasting them for the first time, she knew there was something special that needed to be recreated for others.“I was like, someone has to make these things and call them Port City Pretzels,” Foley says. “I put it in the back of my mind that I wanted to make a product.

”In November 2015, her dream became reality. Foley layers her blend of herbs, infused with a little garlic, on crunchy twisted pretzels, which hold the seasonings perfectly. “A lot of thought went into the kind of pretzel I wanted to use,” she says. “For a long time I was bringing pretzels to everyone I knew.” The crunchy twists are so flavorful, no dipping sauce is needed.

With the success Port City’s debut variety, Foley knew she needed to expand her offerings beyond the savory originals. In March of last year, she introduced Cinnamon Sugar pretzels, a perfect sweeter complement, and kicking it up most recently with Fiesty Hot, need we say more.
